Swish Exports have 33 Hectares of Moringa Farm under our ownership and Management. The trees are planted on Virgin land on all our farms. Harvesters wear clean overalls and head gear. Hands are washed and regularly rinsed in saline solution during harvest. Harvested leaves are placed in clean food grade sacks. Leaves are taken to drying rooms where they are rinsed in saline solution and then dried on drying racks. From drying racks the leaves are hammer milled and sieved and the powder is packaged into food grade export quality 25 kg or 50 kg bags.
The Moringa Trees are naturally grown in virgin land with a fairly diverse eco system i.e. the virgin land is not cleared and stripped of all other vegetation and do not suffer from any serious diseases or pest infestations. At this time all six farms have Moringa trees on average older than 7 years. When demand becomes ever increasing and we need to expand productive capacity then we will harvest seeds for propagation from the existing trees and plant the seed directly into the ground on site in virgin land.
